Brake repair

Pads, rotors, calipers and fluid, measured and photographed before we quote.

Brakes are the job most shops upsell. We measure every pad and rotor, text you the numbers with photos, and replace only what is under the safe limit. If your rotors can be resurfaced we say so instead of selling new ones.

Signs it's time

  • Squeal or grind when braking
  • Pedal pulses or feels soft
  • Car pulls to one side when stopping
  • Brake warning light

What's included

  • Pad and rotor thickness measured on all four wheels
  • New pads with hardware and lubricated slide pins
  • Rotors resurfaced or replaced
  • Brake fluid moisture test
  • Test drive before handover
Price
From $180 per axle
Time
Same day, 1½ to 2½ hours

Check-engine light and diagnostics

A computer scan is where we start. A technician's hands-on check is how we finish.

A code tells us where to look, not what to replace. Parts stores read the code and sell you the part; we test the part before anyone buys it. That is why the diagnosis fee exists, and why it is free when you let us do the repair.

Signs it's time

  • Check-engine light on or flashing
  • Rough idle or hesitation
  • Worse fuel economy
  • Failed state inspection

What's included

  • Full code scan of every module
  • Live data and freeze-frame review
  • Pinpoint testing of the suspected part
  • Written diagnosis with photos
  • The $89 fee comes off the repair if you go ahead
Price
$89, credited to the repair

Oil changes and scheduled maintenance

Factory-schedule maintenance that keeps your warranty intact, without the dealer's add-ons.

Your owner’s manual sets the schedule, not a laminated menu. We follow your manufacturer’s intervals, log every service with date and mileage for your warranty, and tell you which “recommended” extras you can safely skip.

Signs it's time

  • Oil-change reminder on the dash
  • Past the mileage on your windshield sticker
  • 30k / 60k / 90k mile service due
  • Dark or low oil on the dipstick

What's included

  • Oil and filter to your manufacturer's specification
  • 30-point inspection with photos
  • Fluids checked and topped off
  • Tire pressures set and tread measured

Steering, suspension and alignment

Shocks, struts, control arms, tie-rods and a computer alignment to finish.

Signs it's time

  • Car drifts or pulls on a straight road
  • Steering wheel off-center
  • Clunks over bumps
  • Uneven tire wear

What's included

  • Inspection on the lift with photos of every worn joint

AC and heating repair

Leak-tested, properly charged air conditioning for humid Philadelphia summers.

Topping up refrigerant without finding the leak is how a $149 fix becomes a $1,000 compressor. We find the leak first, show it to you, then charge the system to the exact weight on your car’s label.

Signs it's time

  • AC blowing warm or only cold at speed
  • Musty smell from the vents
  • Hissing or clicking under the dash
  • Heater blowing cold

What's included

Batteries, starting and electrical

Free battery and charging test. Starters, alternators and wiring traced properly.

A new battery will not fix a bad alternator. We test the whole charging system before selling you anything, and if your battery passes we tell you so and send you on your way at no charge.

Signs it's time

  • Clicks but will not crank
  • Slow start on cold mornings
  • Lights dim at idle
  • Battery warning light

What's included

  • Battery load test and charging-system test
  • Terminal and ground cleaning
  • Starter and alternator testing on the car

Every package comes with the price lock and our 24 months / 24,000 miles warranty. Prices include parts, labor and disposal.

Before you book

Will an independent shop void my factory warranty?

No. The federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act lets you have your car serviced anywhere. We use parts that meet your manufacturer's specification and give you a dated, itemized record of every service to keep with your papers.

How do you set your prices?

Labor comes from a published industry labor guide multiplied by our posted rate of $135 an hour. Parts are listed line by line. You see both on a written estimate and nothing starts until you approve it.

What if the job costs more than the estimate?

We pay the difference; that is the Price-Lock Guarantee. The approved estimate is the most you will be charged. If we find something new once a part is off, we stop, send photos and ask. Saying no is always fine.

Can I wait while you work on it?

Yes. Oil changes, brakes, batteries and most diagnostics are done in under two hours. The waiting room has Wi-Fi, coffee and a desk. For longer jobs we drive you anywhere within 8 miles at no charge.

Do you use original manufacturer parts?

We quote OEM or OE-equivalent parts from suppliers we trust, and on most jobs we give you both prices so you can choose. We never fit the cheapest part just to win the job.
